Welcome to ivySCI VIP membership. ivySCI VIP membership is developed by Nanjing Qingteng Gezhi Information Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the company"), aiming to provide paid value-added membership benefits for ivySCI users (hereinafter referred to as "you"). Please read and fully understand the terms of this agreement carefully, especially the terms that exempt or limit liability, and the terms for minors. By obtaining and using ivySCI VIP membership in any form, you are deemed to have read and agreed to be bound by this agreement. If you have any objections to any terms of this agreement, you can choose not to activate this product.

1. Service Content

ivySCI VIP membership is a value-added product created by ivySCI for users, including various exclusive membership benefits. The device or software version model you use with ivySCI may affect your normal enjoyment of ivySCI VIP membership benefits. When such situations occur, we will suggest you change the device or remind you to upgrade in time to avoid affecting your normal enjoyment of all membership benefits. The membership benefits included in ivySCI VIP membership are subject to the information published on the ivySCI VIP membership introduction page. ivySCI has the right to adjust all or part of the membership benefits according to business development needs. The aforementioned adjustments will be announced on the aforementioned membership service page, and you can also contact customer service at any time to understand the specific situation of the current membership benefits.

2. Activation and Termination

You agree to this agreement and pay the membership fee or obtain ivySCI VIP membership through other means such as using a redemption code (hereinafter referred to as "membership"). ivySCI VIP membership validity period: calculated from the date of activation of the VIP membership, the specific validity period can be viewed on the personal page. If the membership is renewed or extended by other means within the validity period, the validity period will be extended accordingly. If the membership is not renewed in any way after the expiration of the membership period, the membership will be downgraded to a regular membership. After being downgraded to a regular membership, your corresponding rights will be affected:

1. Your account will be downgraded from a VIP account to a regular account, subject to the constraints of a regular account.
2. For research security reasons, your account data will not be deleted even if your usage exceeds the capacity of a downgraded regular account.
3. After your account is downgraded to a regular account, notes can still be used, added, modified, deleted, and read.
4. If your storage space exceeds that of a regular account, you cannot upload new files.

When activating ivySCI VIP membership, you should carefully check the account information, membership period, membership fee, and other information.

If the member does not use the ivySCI membership benefits, it does not mean that the corresponding rights are waived. However, if the member violates the various management regulations of ivySCI, or if there are abnormal situations with the member account, ivySCI has the right to take restrictive or freezing measures on the corresponding member account according to the management regulations. In such cases, the functions and membership benefits of the member account will be restricted.

You understand, acknowledge, and agree that during the service period of this service, it includes the reasonable time required for ivySCI to resolve faults, server maintenance, adjustments, upgrades, handling third-party infringements, etc. The time required for the aforementioned situations will not be additionally compensated by ivySCI.

3. Membership Fees and Refunds

The ivySCI VIP membership fee is subject to the price indicated on the ivySCI membership introduction page when you purchase ivySCI VIP membership. Due to business needs, ivySCI may increase or decrease the membership account fee, and users who have already purchased cannot request to purchase at the subsequently changed price. ivySCI provides free account functions, giving you enough time to evaluate and decide whether to purchase. Due to limited manpower, we cannot provide refunds for reasons such as not meeting your needs or not providing the services you expected. You also cannot request a refund because we provide new additional services, optimized services, or new features. If ivySCI's fault causes the inability to provide services, such as server failure or data loss, you can request a refund. After we successfully refund you, your account will be downgraded to a regular account, and the refund amount will correspond to the remaining duration of your account (the remaining duration does not include the time we gifted, and the maximum refund amount does not exceed your payment amount).

4. About Educational Identity Verification

Educational identity verification can be automatically verified through an edu email or manually verified by submitting a form. Manual verification is post-processed, meaning users can purchase with educational identity first and we will review the submitted materials later. Whether verified through edu email or manual verification, we will verify the user's educational identity through third-party data. If we find that the user has used a false educational identity to purchase an educational account after verification, we reserve the right to stop the purchased educational membership. Educational accounts need to be re-verified when renewing.

5. About Minors' Use

As an academic literature service, ivySCI is not open to minors. If you are a minor, please do not purchase or use this service.

6. Membership Account Management

Members should comply with ivySCI's various rules, including but not limited to this agreement, the "ivySCI Terms of Use", and other system norms, as well as various notices and announcements related to ivySCI users and ivySCI VIP members issued by ivySCI from time to time (collectively referred to as "management regulations"). If you obtain membership through redemption codes or gifts, ivySCI has the right to invalidate improperly gifted or illegally provided redemption codes and cancel your membership without providing any compensation. If a third party gifts you membership (such as related to third-party promotional activities), ivySCI is not responsible for any third-party products or services provided by the third party or any marketing promotions or promotional plans. ivySCI is not responsible for any password leakage or membership rights damage caused by reasons not attributable to ivySCI. If a member finds that their account has been stolen, they should promptly change the password or retrieve the account through the management regulations. To avoid the risk of account theft, ivySCI also has the right to proactively restrict or freeze abnormal accounts and suspend or terminate the provision of membership benefits to abnormal accounts. Members must not obtain membership through improper means, lend, rent, or sell their membership account to third parties in any form, share or sell their membership benefits to third parties in any form, abuse membership benefits, or use membership to obtain improper benefits. If a member engages in improper behavior, violates the management regulations, or damages the interests of ivySCI or other ivySCI users in any form, ivySCI has the right to suspend or cancel the member's membership without refunding the membership fee. In addition, the violating member must bear all responsibilities and consequences arising from such actions. Disputes arising from reasons attributable to the member themselves are unrelated to ivySCI, and the member should bear the corresponding responsibility. If such disputes damage ivySCI's legitimate rights and interests, ivySCI has the right to cancel the member's membership without refunding the membership fee. At the same time, ivySCI has the right to use legal means to protect its rights.

7. Cloud Storage Space Calculation

Cloud storage does not include the number of your literature and notes, only the size of the attachments (including PDF literature) you upload. The validity period of cloud storage starts from the time you purchase a VIP account and ends when your membership period ends, not a permanent account capacity. After the validity period ends, your files will not be deleted even if you exceed the capacity of a regular account, and you can still read your literature. The number of files you upload daily is not only affected by the total space but also by our anti-spam program. We cannot guarantee that you can use up all the space in your account in a short time.

8. About Intelligent Recognition and Literature Meta Recognition

The intelligent recognition and literature meta recognition provided by ivySCI are core functions of the software. Since this function is still being continuously updated, ivySCI cannot promise to provide recognition for every piece of literature, nor can it guarantee that the recognition is completely accurate. In particular, ivySCI currently cannot guarantee the recognition of Chinese literature, or even if recognition is provided, it cannot guarantee accuracy. By purchasing VIP or educational membership, you understand and accept the service quality provided by ivySCI, and you cannot request a refund or demand service within a specified period for this reason.

9. Translation Character Count Meaning

The translation character count refers to all selected characters, including spaces, line breaks, and other non-display characters, not the number of words. For example, "I love you." is 12 characters, not 8 characters. The character count is asynchronous and may be slightly delayed, and there may be some errors due to calculation reasons, but the error does not exceed 1%.

10. Intellectual Property Issues

You acknowledge that the copyright of the materials you upload and the materials you create in ivySCI software/services are different. The copyright of the content you create, such as added literature notes, belongs to you personally, but the copyright of the materials you upload may belong to third parties, and you cannot claim copyright on these uploaded contents to ivySCI. You acknowledge and agree that the content you upload, publish, or transmit on ivySCI is your personal behavior, and ivySCI is not responsible for the accuracy, authenticity, availability, security, completeness, and legality of such information and content, nor does it assume any responsibility. During the use of the product, if you obtain files or other attachments through third-party websites or services, you need to ensure that you have the right to obtain these files, and ivySCI does not assume copyright responsibility, and you need to bear full responsibility for this. If ivySCI receives a notice from a third party, including a mandatory notice from a national authority (judicial authority) or a notice from the copyright owner of the file, requesting ivySCI to delete the copyrighted materials obtained by users through illegal means, ivySCI will immediately delete the copyrighted materials according to legal requirements upon receiving the notice. User-created content such as notes belongs to the user, and unless required by judicial authorities, ivySCI will not execute deletion requests without the user's backup.

11. Disclaimer

During your use of ivySCI, including reading, taking notes, searching, sharing, forwarding, etc. (collectively referred to as "use"), you should make independent judgments and use it legally. ivySCI is not responsible for any damage caused to yourself or third parties due to your use.

ivySCI is not responsible for any inability to use, loss, or reduction of account data caused by telecommunication department communication line failures, network or computer failures, system instability, and force majeure.

ivySCI will back up user data in a timely manner to ensure that user data is not lost, but in the case of force majeure, including but not limited to ivySCI being subject to terrorist attacks, violent coercion, control by national violent agencies, etc., resulting in the loss of ivySCI data and backup data, ivySCI is not responsible, and you cannot request compensation from ivySCI for this reason.

12. Agreement Modification

According to the development of the Internet and changes in relevant laws, regulations, and normative documents, or due to the business development needs of ivySCI, ivySCI has the right to modify or change the terms of this agreement. Once the content of this agreement changes, ivySCI will choose to notify you through system prompts, announcements, etc., based on the actual situation. If you do not agree with the modifications to the relevant terms of this agreement made by ivySCI, you have the right to stop using ivySCI VIP membership, and ivySCI will refund the fees corresponding to the membership period you have paid but not enjoyed within 14 days. If you continue to use it, it is deemed that you accept the modifications to the relevant terms of this agreement made by ivySCI.
