Losing an eyeball is a traumatic event both medically and psychologically that can cause functional, psychological, and aesthe-tic problems. Ocular prosthesis is part of a whole rehabilitative treatment after the surgery. This article describes the procedure to make a permanent ocular prosthesis to improve appearance, physical and psychological post surgery. A 3-year-old female patient came to Halimah Dg. Sikati Makassar Dental Hospital that was referred by an ophthalmologist after losing her right eye-ball to enucleation procedure for stage 2 tumor at the tender age of 8 months and wishes to have a permanent ocular prosthesis to restore appearance and self-confidence. Ocular prosthesis can help ease the psychological trauma and burden of losing the eyeball. It was concluded that restores the aesthetic appearance of the eyeball can increase the patient's confidence so she can function and feel better socially.

Ocular prosthesis for post pediatric enucleation: a case report

Periodontal disease is an inflammatory disease of the tissues surrounding the teeth. Periodontal disease during pregnancy is cor-related with adverse pregnancyoutcomes such as prematurity, low birth weight, preeclampsia, and miscarriage. Midwifery stu-dents who will practice need to know about periodontal health inpregnant women. This descriptive study is aimed to determine the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of midwifery students at STIKes Senior Medan about periodontal health for pregnant women, with the number of research samples was 102 female students. The tests used are validity tests, reliability tests and des-criptive statistical analysis. The questionnaire is valid and reliable except for items number 3 for knowledge and 5 for attitude so it is deleted. The resultsshowed that the level of knowledge and attitudes and behaviour of STIKes senior midwifery students about the periodontal health of pregnant women is in the good category.

Adenocarcinoma is a type of carcinoma that begins from the glands. Impovement in management of head and neck cancer have resulted in decreased mortality, increased survival rates and patient’s quality of life. The World Health Organization defines quality of life are include three things, physical function, mentalstatus and ability to socially interact. It is reported a 19-year-old male with a history of right infraorbital adenocarcinoma who had undergone hemimaxillectomy,chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The patient complains painful swallowing and soreness in the oral cavity. Extraoral examination face and eyes was asymmetrical,there was keloid tissue in the right infraorbital and dry lips. Intraoral examination found white plaque on the upper labial mucosa, the left buccal mucosa had severalerythematous lesions and brownish macules. Yellowish white plaque on the anterior two-third of the tongue’s dorsum and there are fissures. Necrotic area on ​​right hard palate with yellowish margin. The teeth at first region are edentulous, whereas regions 2, 3 and 4 most of them are radix. The patient’s quality of life was assessed using the oral health impact profile (OHIP-14). Based on the assessment, the patient's quality of life at the first visit was poor with score 45, the next visit showed improvement with score 39, reduced in pain, improved physical and psychological abilities. It s concluded that oral and dental health is an important thing that can improve the quality of life of patients with infraorbital adenocarcinoma which is supported by good communication between doctors and patients.

The choice of implant shape and size is an important part of the treatment plan procedure in order to obtain an implant that is sta-ble in masticatory function and aesthetic function. The use of implants with a tapered design and surface modification would improve the ultimate stability in low density bone. A comprehensiveand accurate radiographic examination is also an import-ant aspect of dental implant treatment planning. This article is aimed to present things about taperedinternal implants starting from indications, shape and dimensions, design, surface characteristics of the implant and drilling guide and selection of the appropriate type and radiographic technique to produce appropriate diagnostic information. So, with the limited facilities of modern radiographic images inIndonesia, conventional radiographic examinations with several projections can be used as an option to obtain optimal diagnostic information according to existing cases.&#x0D; Keywords: tapered implant, dental implant, dental implant radiography.

Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is the most serious cutaneous adverse drug reaction characterized by extensive detachment of epidermis and erosions of oral mucosal. Early diagnosis and proper therapy are an essential for reduction the morbidity and mortality of this disease. This article is aimed to describe the management of TEN with oral involvement accompanied candi-diasis in patient with carcinoma cervix stage III. A 53-year-old female patient with carcinomacervix stage III and diagnosed of TEN was referred to Oral Medicine Clinic with complaint of painful throughout the oral mucosa, on the lips and during swal-lowing. The patient had a medication history after 25th radiotherapy i.e. cefixime and mefenamic acid. Erythema and erosive le- sion were seen at almost of the bodymainly in back, waist and belly except on palm hand and sole. Erosion also found on the lips with hemorrhagic crusts which bleed easily. Erosive lesion andcandidiasis were seen in the labial mucosa, dorsum and late-ral of tongue, and buccal mucosa. The patient was given NaCl 0.9% for lips compress, chlorhexidinedigluconate 0.12%, hya-ruronic acid mouthwash, vaseline album, whilst therapy for candidiasis was nystatin oral suspension 100,000 IU. The pa-tient was also given education to maintain oral hygiene. It was concluded that oral lesions and candidiasis were healed after 2 weeks of therapy and the patient had significant improvement on the oral mucosal. The appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies given were successful on reducing the morbidity and mortality to the patient.

Composite resin can undergo discolouration if exposed to dyes. The use of apples can whiten teeth because they contain ma-lic acid. True experiment research with pretest-posttest with control group design using 24 samples divided into 6 treatments, namely sample groups 1 and 2 (nanofiller and nanohybrid composite groups that have been discoloured soaked in apple fruit juice (Malus sylvestris Mill) 80% concentration, groups 3 and 4 (negative control group, discoloured nanofiller and nanohy-brid composites soaked in distilled water) and groups 5 and 6 (positive control group, discoloured nanofiller and nanohybrid composites soaked in 10% carbamide peroxide). The colour change was determined with a shade guide (Vitapan Classical). The results were normally distributed and homogeneous. One-way Anova test showed there was a significant difference in each group. In the independent t-test, there was a significant difference in colour change between nanofiller and nanohybrid composite resins that experienced discoloration in 80% apple juice immersion. It was concluded that nanofiller composite resin had lower discolouration compared to nanohybrid.

The effect of imposing apple (Malussylvestris Mill) juice on discoloration of nanofiller and nanohybrid composites

Cinnamon leaves contain flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids and tannins that can help stimulate fibroblast cell formation and inhi-bit bacterial growth with antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities so as to accelerate the healing process in inflammation. This study aims to determine the optimal concentration of cinnamon leaf extract gel (Cinnamomum burman-nii) 35% on the number of fibroblast cells in healing inflammation of the buccal mucosa of wistar strain white rats (Rattus nor-vegicus). Laboratory experimental research in vivo with randomised post-test only control group design using 30 wistar rats which were divided into three groups: positive control (K+) given H2O2 30% + Aloclair gel; negative control (K-) given H2O2 30%, and the third group (P) given H2O2 30% + 35% DKM extract gel. The results showed the mean number of fibroblast cells in groups (K+), (K-), and (P) were 51.1 cells, 29.1 cells, and 43.8 cells, respectively. All groups showed significantly dif-ferent results (????&lt;0.05) with the one-way Anova test. It is concluded that 35% DKM extract gel can increase the number of fi-broblast cells so that it can effectively heal the inflammation of the buccal mucosa of white wistar rats.

Public awareness of the importance of orthodontic treatment to correct malocclusion is increasing. Orthodontic treatment like any other medical treatment can pose a risk to the patient, due to errors that occur during treatment. This literature review aimed to determine the errors that can occur during orthodontic treatment and the risks they can pose to patients. Scientific information relevant to the study topic was collected and synthesized into an article. In general, errors can originate from orthodontic treat-ment, including the type of appliance used, the direction and amount of force applied, the skill of the clinician and the length of treatment. Errors can also originate from the patient, namely biological and behavioral factors of the patient. It is concluded that orthodontic treatment errors and patient factors can cause risks to patients during orthodontic treatment, namely periodontal da-mage, pain, root resorption, tooth devitalization, temporomandibular joint disorders, caries, and enamel damage. A good under-standing of treatment procedures, diagnosis and patient informed consent is needed in order to minimize the risks of orthodon-tic treatment that can occur in patients.

Mistakes in orthodontic treatment

Orthodontic treatment aims to regulate the growth and development of the jaw and teeth. The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a hinge joint that connects the upper and lower jaw bones between the temporal bone and the head of the mandibular con-dyle. Orthodontic treatment of patients with a history of restriction of TMJ movement experienced statistically significant re-sults and reduction of TMJ pain. The results of the analysis of 6 journals stated that orthodontic treatment had a significant re-lationship with temporomandibular joint disorders. Orthodontic treatment can cause TMD such as structural disorders of the TMJ and functional disorders. Orthodontic treatment can also help overcome TMD such as reducing pain in the TMJ and pro-viding balance to the occlusion.

Halitosis is a general term used to describe the smell or odor that is not preferred when air is blown, regardless of whether the substance of odor derived from oral or non-oral. Tea (Camellia sinensis) is the most widely consumed beverage in the world communities; green tea and black tea are commonly known. The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of rin-sing the decoction water of green tea and black tea to decrease halitosis. The method used is quasi-experimental study in which subjects was 50 people, divided into two groups: 25 person rinse with decoction water of green tea and 25 person rinse with de-coction water of black tea. Measuring the level of the halitosis in all samples taken before and after treatment. The results show-ed that there were significant differences between the two treatment groups, ie sig. 0.048 amounted less than 5% (p&lt;0.05). The conclusion is rinsing using decoction water of green tea is more effective to eliminate halitosis than rinsing using decoction wa-ter of black tea.
