The paper gives a new generalized definition of the loxodrome on any surface. Its differential equations are derived, which are solved on the sphere and on the rotational ellipsoid. The concept of generalized longitude is introduced, which appears in a natural way when solving the differential equation of the loxodrome. Furthermore, the isometric latitude on the sphere and on the ellipsoid is introduced and show the relations with latitude and longitude. Generalized longitude allows defining isometric latitude in a new way. At the end, basic geodesic problems are solved along the loxodrome on the sphere and on the rotational ellipsoid.

The paper is a review on map projections. The introductory part gives the definition of map projections, their classification, and describes the basic problem, which is the impossibility of mapping a spherical or ellipsoidal surface into a plane without distortion. The following chapter presents the historical development of map projections, from their beginnings more than 2,500 years ago to the present day. The following is a description of the development and application of map projections in Croatia. In particular, official map projections in Croatia and map projections in Croatian education are investigated.

The United Nations called on the international community to move forward together. Through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), a plan was set until 2030. The use of maps, mapping technology and the skills of cartographers help synthesize and visualize complex data. Maps allow insights into trends and comparisons between different areas and over different time periods. Mapping helps in better understanding and implications of each sustainable development goal. For this purpose, the paper presents map projections with a special emphasis on mapping for a sustainable world. Map projection is not only the transformation of geospatial data, but of any data related to space. Presented is a modern classification of map projections that differs from the usual division into cylindrical, conical and azimuthal. For maps of the world adapted to the goals of sustainable development, the Winkel Triple projection is proposed. Different map projections bring with them significantly different distortions. The energy consumption for displaying a digital map varies greatly when using different projections. This is the area of a new branch of cartography − green cartography. In the article, we take a critical look at the research of digital maps and their carbon footprint and warn against maps made in map projections that should not be researched in the future. The article is intended for everyone who is interested in cartography as an auxiliary profession in sustainable development, but also for cartographers who do not think critically enough about map projections.

Provođenje prostorne analize temeljene na ispravnom multifunkcionalnom geografski orijentiranom modelu u domeni prometnih nesreća važan je dio cjelokupnog upravljanja prometnim sustavom. Cilj je rada demonstrirati metodologiju korištenja digitalnog modela cesta, definiranje optimalnih parametara za izradu cestovnog grafa i georeferenciranje nastalih događaja radi određivanja indeksa prostorne autokorelacije prometnih nesreća, u potpunosti koristeći otvorene podatke. Da bi se postigao taj cilj, upotrebljava se temelj međunarodne normizacije postavljen u ISO 19 100 – Geografske informacije u kombinaciji s metodom prostorne autokorelacije, proširenom za mrežu, praktično primijenjenom kroz mogućnosti programskog jezika Python kao elementa Geoinformacijskog sustava prometnih nesreća. Obrađeni su podatci otvorenog koda s geoportala OpenStreetMap, kao i stvarni arhivski podatci za 1288 teških nesreća na području grada Sofije u Bugarskoj, te je izračunat koeficijent prostorne autokorelacije kako bi se utvrdila ovisnost ili neovisnost broja prometnica nesreća između pojedinih područja svojom točnošću i pouzdanošću. Rezultat je definiranje ispravne osnove za provedbu prostorne analize s postavljanjem temelja za naknadno proučavanje različitih čimbenika i definiranje niza razloga čije će utvrđivanje dovesti do smanjenja ozljeda u prometu.

Ovaj rad ima za cilj istražiti bi li Apian mogao biti autor kartografskih projekcija koje se po njemu zovu. Dokazi sugeriraju da ta preslikavanja nisu trebala biti nazvana po Apianu. Najvjerojatniji izumitelj kartografske projekcije Apian I je Amerigo Vespucci, a projekciju Apian II vjerojatno je tek 300 godina kasnije razvio François Arago. S obzirom na to da slučaj Apianovih kartografskih projekcija nije jedinstveni primjer kada kartografska projekcija nije nazvana po svom pravom izumitelju i da bi autorstvo više kartografskih projekcija moglo biti dovedeno u pitanje u budućnosti, kartografska bi zajednica trebala preispitati je li to dobra konvencija nazvati kartografske projekcije po njihovom navodnom izumitelju.
