The work describes a precise, accurate and reproducible Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method for development and validation of Pioglitazone in tablet dosage form on Lachrome Liquid chromatographic system having PDA-20 A UV/VIS Detector using stationary phase C18 column (300 mm × 3.9 mm, 5 μm, particle size) and acetonitrile:phosphate buffer, (50:50 v/v) as mobile phase at flow rate of 1.00 ml/min and the detection wavelength was 267 nm. The retention time for Pioglitazone was found to be 8.08 min. The method was validated for precision, accuracy, linearity range, robustness, system stability, as per ICH guidelines Q2(R1).

RP-HPLC Method Development and Validation for Pioglitazone in Bulk and Marketed Formulation

High-performance thin-layer chromatography addresses a more proficient type of ordinary TLC wherein applying, examining, and representation the spots of samples are completely automatic. Taking everything into account, HPTLC is one of the least complex, minimal expense, flexible, and explicit strategies that can be applied for the verification of food supplements including medicinal plant materials. Esculetin, chemically known as 6,7-dihydroxy coumarin, is one of the ingredients of the traditional medicinal plant Cichoriumintybus Linn. In the current investigation, a simple HPTLC method was developed and validated for the separation and quantification of esculetin in the ethanolic leaf extracts of CichoriumintybusLinn., via HPTLC. Precoated silica gel 60 F254 was used as stationary phase and toluene: ethyl acetate: formic acid in the ratio of 9.5:8.5:2 v/v as mobile phase. The plate was scanned and quantified at 356 nm for esculetin and the method was validated in terms of linearity, accuracy, and specificity. The proposed HPTLC method gives a quicker and cost-effective control for regular analysis of esculetin in the ethanolic extracts of the plant containing coumarins.

Quantitative Determination of Esculetin by HPTLC in the Ethanolic Leaf Extract of C. Intybus Linn

In this research, a new quinoline derivative, 7-((2-aminoethyl)amino)-5-bromo-6-hydroxy-1- methylquinolin-1-ium-3-sulfonate (QEt) as well as six complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) with this ligand [M(QEt-1H)2].nH2O (M: Co, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg), [Ni(QEt-1H)Cl].2H2O were synthesized. The molecular formulas and structures of the complexes were determined using measurement as IR, EDX, ESI-MS, 1H NMR spectra and thermal analysis. The bioactivity tests shown that the ligand and CuQEt complex have limiting effects to microorganisms, complexes CoQEt, ZnQEt, CdQEt and HgQEt exhibit antibacterial activities with low IC50 values, from 0.5 to 56.0 μg/mL and be most effective to Bacillus subtilis. Especially HgQEt inhibits effectively to almost types of bacteria.

The northern part of India has great diversity of medicinal plants due to its geography and ecological marginal conditions. These traditional systems have been curing disease since 3,000 years. With the demand for these medicinal plants, most of the plant populations have been depleted, indicating a lack of ecological knowledge among communities using the plants. Thus, an attempt was made in this study of ethno medicinal plants, to determine their availability in the growing sites, and to inform the communities about the sustainable exploitation of medicinal plants in the wild. The Himalayas have a great wealth of medicinal plants and traditional medicinal knowledge. Medicinal plants have played an important role of primary health care system among the local people of Himalayan region. The present paper is a study of the traditional knowledge of medicinal plants and its use by local people of Himalayan region. Due to its unique geographical location and different climatic condition, it has rich biodiversity and variety of plant species. The present paper focuses about the indigenous knowledge of different medicinal plants used in the Himalayan region ethno medicinal uses of 70 medicinal plant species along with botanical name, family, local name,chemicals,part used and mode of treatment are given in this paper.

Phyto-Pharmacological Aspects of Ethnomedicinal Plants Found in Himalayan Region: A Systematic Approach Towards Drug Natural Resources

Novel series of bis-pyranotetrazole derivatives have been developed by using resorcinol as starting compound with involvement of substituted aromatic aldehydes (a-e), malononitrile in pot condensation. During the reaction 2,8-diamino-4,6-bis (substituted phenyl)-4,6-dihydropyrano[3,2-g] chromene-3,7-dicarbonitrile 1(a-e) and 2,8-dioxo-4,6-bis (substituted phenyl)-2,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydropyrano [3,2-g] chromene-3,7-dicarbonitrile 2(a-e) formed as intermediates. The synthesized compounds were confirmed by their IR, NMR and Mass spectral data.
