The Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery aims to provide a scientific basis for optimizing the care of severely injured and critically ill surgical patients. The journal places a high priority on both basic and translational research to achieve this goal. Additionally, it is keen to publish randomized prospective clinical studies to establish evidence-based care practices. Finally, the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery seeks to include systematic reviews, guidelines, and algorithms that incorporate existing best evidence.
